I am looking at getting a new tripod and I am considering this one. Seems like a nice tripod. I will have a gimbal and I shoot with a 5D4 and sigma 60-600. I am 5' 10 inches tall. I am wanting to not spend over 500 on one. This one is close enough in price at B&H. So are there other options for less money? I want something to handle my equipment listed and be tall enough so I don't have to bend over looking through my camera. I would appreciate and options opinions you may have.

This is a new brand for me,. never even heard of them. That said there are a number of decent import "Series 3" copies out there now, including ones made by Leofoto, Sirui, Induro, Feisol etc.

Usually the newest kid on the block has the best prices,. and in time, they all end up as good old standards that many rely on.

From my quick reading on B&H it looks as if the top "spider" is interchangeable with the Gitzo "systematic" standard top plates, so leveling column, 75mm "bowl" etc. can all be interchanged.
That would be my top priority, and why i decided on an Induro "grand" series some time ago.

Last weeks flavor-ite Gitzo copy from a price performance standpoint was "leofoto"

they have one similarly spec'ed at B&H that might also be of interest;

vs. the robus I am assuming you are looking at;

I'd spend the extra $50.00 for the 70" (Vs 58") Robus, or consider the LeoFoto @63"

Having a little more height can be VERY useful on uneven ground etc.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. If I do get the Robus, it will be the 70 inch one. I am taking a look at some of the other series 3 tripods. These series 3 tripods are probably a little overkill for my setup but it will be nice and stable. I had my setup blow over last year in Yellowstone on my old tripod. I am a little skeptical as B & H and amazon have all 5 stars. Maybe it is that good. Also new on the market so not sure how it will hold up over time.

It "might" be a little overkill, but IMHO not really.
I mean, I would tend to hand hold the XXX-600mm zooms, but there are times with any lens you want to use a tripod. Not just because "it's heavy"
For the distances involved, and the detail you are looking for, you need a steady platform. I think the 3 series is spot on the best all-arounder (as do the vast majority of high end tripod owners) so you are in good company. Even for a small wide angle doing landscape work, this is a solid set up that wil actually damp vibrations and give you what you need from a tripod.

The Robus went on sale today so I ordered it. I think I am really going to enjoy using this tripod. It is a nice upgrade from what I was using.

Nice deal! If I didn't have all I need, I would have gone for that as well!
