Don, Renata, Ed, Lesley and roses75, thank you for participating! Whether on accident, or by design, I enjoy all of your submissions.

Don, this looks like a nice place to relax. I like how your lens flare in the upper left looks similar to "light leak" from worn seals on a film camera.

Renata, this submission grabbed me. It's a lovely scene, but the utter chaos in your lens flare caught my eye, and I really like that. Serenity juxtaposed with optical mayhem...cool.

Ed, another serene local and it's well composed. The setting sun in frame gives host to flares of rays and circles. Nice.

Lesley, a wonderfully composed frame with spot-on exposure, as the sun peers through the branches creating well defined rays of light flare. This is a very aesthetically pleasing photograph.

Roses, more chaotic flaring here creating wonderful rays, balls and coma with lots of colors attacking the scene. Nice.

_______________

For me, it came down to chaos or symmetry. Though I love Renata's chaos, I give the slight edge to Lesley's technical symmetry.

So:

Runner up: Renata

Winner: Lesley

Thank you all again for the wonderful submissions!

Oh thank you so much, Jason. This is a spur of the moment shot off my back porch looking west towards the mountains this last summer. My neighbor’s blue spruce was a nice counter to the sun rays.

Congrats to Renata. Ed, beautiful shot! Actually all of the entries are sweet. :-D

Thanks for hosting a fun challenge, Jason. I’ll post the next challenge in an hour or two.
