If it's any help to you, I've just 'sold' one of my images to Lonely Planet for £70 (approx $100) BUT I keep the copyright and they acknowledge me as the photographer. The remainder of their contract is similar to the one you posted. However, I think it's good publicity for me so I'm not quibbling the price. And I took it a few years ago so didn't cost me anything (except a bit of time) to produce to their specifications.

Yes I was paid, not a lot, $100 and gave them very similar rights as what you posted. The shot they were after had no real value, it wasn't that great of a shot. The only reason they were even interested was that it was a shot of their property. I don't believe I lost any future earnings on that particular image so I figured a hundred bucks was better than no bucks. ;-)a

*edit - this particular business was small and local, not many locations. Not like it was a national chain or anything. Still have to be aware that even though most places aren't trying to screw you as much as they are trying to protect themselves, there are people out there who will try and get what ever they can for as cheap as they can.

It is so refreshing to see someone who can view their work objectively and accurately. . Professionals are usually quite good at doing so ...... amateurs and hobbyists, not so much. They tend to think of average images as being "special" in some intrinsic way.

No, you didn't ..... especially as you wouldn't be able to license it to anyone else, unless that company signed a property release for you. . It was either sell it to them or not sell it at all.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
