I just snagged a 2x mark iii for only $175 locally. These are the 1st sample pics I snapped in the back yard. Canon 1dx ii, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS ii and the 2x mark iii. I am very impressed by the sharpness when zoomed in 100%. JPEG straight out of camera and crop done in CS5

Super interesting! I am on the verge of investing in a 2x III my self to use on the exact same lens. Would you mind posting loads of other samples you are satisfied with? :) I have been braking google for the last weeks while googling for samples of this very combination of lens and extender ;D

Thanks. So far I haven't really had a lot of time or a reason to use the tele. Been working a lot ( at a grocery store, it's like world war 3 breaking out).

While that camera has a great sensor and that really helps, most users are reporting that the Canon version iii 1.4x and 2x are working exceptionally well with all of the recently updated Canon v.ii and v.iii lenses.

Wait, you picked up a 1DX mark 2 for $175? Is that a typo?

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I think it says 175$ for the extender =) Otherwise the camera must have been stolen ;D Got my own 1DX mark I on Tuesday with a delivery. Pre owned but sold from a store for 800$ :D:D:D:D

Anyhow, I am almost drowning from my own drooling for both the 1.4x III and the 2x III! =Þ ~~~~

No, the mark iii extender was $175 via letgo, the camera was $2800 on Ebay
