Backlit or backlighting is the theme for this challenge. Subject matter is up to you whether it be macro, landscape, portrait, etc. Show me what catches your eye.

The challenge begins when posted and will end on Monday, January 27, 2020 at midnight Mountain Standard Time. (But if you sneak in after the deadline before I close the challenge, I shall allow it.) The winner will be announced the next day.

CHALLENGE RULES:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, (not just DSLR).
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: See standard P.O.T.N. Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
6. Details: Show camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
7. Commenting: Please, NO COMMENTING DURING CHALLENGE. Feel free to comment in this thread after a winner is declared.
8. Content: Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
9. Have questions? PM me.
10. Have FUN!

* THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED! A new challenge should be posted ASAP after you have been declared the winner.

Thank you all for participating! I am having the wonderful problem of trying to decide a winner. I hate this part, lol.

dilorenzo1954 En “back”lightment Thanks for being the brave first post.;-)a Love everything about this including the orchids, shadows, buddha, and candle backlighting.

Capn Jack Moose Neat shot! I like the sparkles and the water dripping off of the moose.

dangermoney This is beautiful. Love the reflection of the sun, the waves, the bird, and the colors.

Levina de Ruijter Glasses... Oh my. This is just wonderful! I love the lighting as it fades out. The different shapes keeps it all balanced. Black and white suits this perfectly.

OldCrow This is an interesting shot. I’m guessing you have the flower placed on a light table?

rwmson Flex-Neck Sweet catch! Love the position of the swan, the water ripples, and the reflections.

itsallart Clouds Beautiful clouds with the sun lighting the edges.

Okay, here goes.

Winner is Levina. I’m sorry to give you double duty this week but I really don’t have a choice! Your shot is so clean and beautifully backlit.

Runners-up are rwmson and Capn Jack.

Thank you all again for your entries.
