5Dmk4 that is. Now that this camera is getting cheap. I think I'm gonna upgrade to this and sell my 40D and 7Dmk11. All my lenes are EF mount so I'm good there. Is anyone else thinking now is the time or are you thinking to get into mirrorless? Also got a T5i.

I'm not big on technologies. I just got the 7Dii and the additional features over the 7D (previous camera) is overwhelming (good way). I just need good glass and able to produce good prints (20x36 or 16x20).

I shot on 5Dii for many years, and many prints were made, but the crop body is sufficient.

I was waiting for either a 7Diii or mirrorless equivalent for nearly two years but gave up. I should've known better, Canon generally takes their sweet time. If I were you, I would use your 7Dii for at least another 5yrs and let the mirrorless market stabilize.

They are going to get a lot cheaper in next couple of months

Honestly, i use the 1Dx2 more so my 5D4 is low on the count. I think I am going to keep it, by pass the 1Dx3 and Im anxious to get final specs on the new mirrorless that was leaked today. That will get me best of everything if these new specs are as they say they are.

5D4 is a great camera

Last fall I bought a Voigtlander Vito II for $24.95. Full frame 35mm for $24.95! Let me know when the 5D IV is in my price range.

dunno what a 1D-x goes for in the US, but I saw one locally go for NZ$1200 the other day (equiv of US$770 or so...) which I would consider awfully cheap.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

The 1DX was going for $3000 US until very recently. The introduction of the 1DX3 has caused prices to slip some but so far I haven't seen many listed below 2K.

I mean, to get the same look in the viewfinder, sure,. but if you stick with 300mm, you'll get 12MP where the 40D only had 10,. so even cropped heavy, the 5D4 will be a HUGE IQ upgrade (2 more MP plus a whole lot of other advantages)

Of course, not the same story vs. 7D2.

Me too. Almost bought a 2nd 5DmkIV when the prices were so low then. Instead I got the R which I haven't used enough to give it a fair evaluation.

Unless I need the speed/crop of the 7dmkII, I always try to use the 5DmkIV for the quality of images it produces.

I will still get a second 5DmkIV especially now that the likelihood of a 5DmkV being developed is virtually gone.
