5Dmk4 price at BHphotovideo today is $2,499.00.

It was down to $1,600.00 not long ago.

Has Canon USA said anything official on the 5Dmk5?

For a new one? If so that's an absolute steal.

Wait until black Friday. Canon should have something out by then that may cause the sale price of the 5Div to take a deep dive until stock is exhausted.

It was Canon Refurb store, or loyalty program trade in,. or NEW from B&H/Adorama.

The killer was it was absolutely true that a new one was undercutting the selling prices people were asking then for their used POS by a few hundred dollars!

Crazy thing on the Canon refurbs is the 5DIII (body only) is $2239 and the 5DIV is $2250. Go figure...

In September of ‘18 I got tired of carrying a backpack with a 1Dx and 1Ds3 through airports and want to lighten my load. I replaced them with two 5DIV’s which weigh half of the 1Series and have been happy with my choice. Even today, I would recommend the 5DIV to a pro unless you shoot sports and are invested in EF lenses. I realize the R has an adapter but I’m not into adapting things unless it’s absolutely necessary. Besides, I find the R lens lineup to be lacking and completely overpriced.

I love my 5D4's. I currently have no real desire for any new features that a 5D5 might have (though the marketing guys will make you feel insecure without them). One feature I do miss from my 1D bodies is the eyepiece shutter.
