OMG in the comments;

"The pixel density is too low to replace a 7D Mark II for long-reach applications (17MP in APS-c mode) "

lol, Really!? I'd take 17mp of 5D4 IQ pixels over 20mp of the 7D2s pixels any day of the week!

I mean, I can understand this specific (yet long worn out) argument when comparing 10 or 12 MP to 20, but no one is going to be able to worry about 17 vs. 20.

I always said there would be no 5D5... ;) I still believe that, and this may be the nail in the coffin if the specs are right, AND the AF system is on par with the PDAF on the 5D4. That is a big IF though.

AND DUAL CARDS

Seems odd to drop down to 20MP with the RP already the bargain FF mirror-less with 24MP... :scratches head smilie:

I like it. I'm having a hard time believing it's what they say it is based on IBIS and 8K video,. these seem to tarnish the possibility of it all being true, but if it's true with IBIS,. wow!

HOWEVER

You have an EOS R and you already know about hitting a moving object and low light performance

I cant imagine these concerns will not be addressed along with dual cards

but i think it will....and they are going to have a wheel on the back of this thing v/s the ROS R situation with controls

I Think its a 5D4 with mirrorless technology thats going to work

Hopefully

.
The thing I am most interested in is the thing that I didn't see in the leaked specs.

I wonder if it will have state-of-the-art Eye Focus tracking, that works perfectly on both human and all animal eyes. . Or, will it just have the Face Detection focus thing or whatever it is that Canon's been doing lately?

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

In Other Words

Will it have eye focus on par to Sony :p

probably not is my thinking

But I think it will have eye focus that will work- look at the AF video on the 1Dx3- pretty impressive

The R6 is rumored to have the same fps but @ 20mp. That means that R5 will likely to have it cropped @ 18mp (from 45mp) for 12fps. AF and fps better than 7Dii but resolution equal to 7D

That would be disappointing.

Why? Because I don't want it to have to crop the photos to get that speed. I don't really need 12 FPS though. 10 would be fine.

Does this mean the 5D4 is now instantly transformed into a POS?

If so, it will be time for me to buy one

Assuming they address the EVF lag with this model it will be interesting to see where the price point is in relation to the Sony A9 II. It will also make it interesting to see the stats and pricepoint on the 5D MK V.

Regards,
Steve

20 FPS is going to fill up the buffer pretty quickly... think it will be SD cards only?
