I decided to get a gimbal head for my tripod (I usually hand hold) and went for the Benro GH2 - First impressions are that it is excellent - very stable, well built and very nice to use.

What else, but our tame Robin! Only cropped square.

I'm like yourself, normally shoot handheld, but was persuaded to try this because of the range of movement possible and found that it worked nicely for shooting football. I now use it for cricket as well. Its a great piece of kit.

I had my first attempt at using the Canon Connect app on my iPad to do some remote shooting today. It worked very well, I’ve never managed to catch three birds together on one of my bird feeders before. I set the tripod up outside with my MK III and sat indoors with my iPad taking the pictures!

From my morning walk. Went back for my long lens after seeing the full moon and decided I'd just haul my camera for the 5 miles :)

And of course - my moon shots! A little cropping action for Instagram. Both are handheld about an hour apart with the dawn sunrise.

Beautiful photos here Danilo, very nice.

I wondered about the gender and Weja kindly posted reply

Difference in color is one thing.
At the end of the tail of the dragon , a male has those two pins at the end close together while a female has two pins with more space between them

Off we went Saturday, back down to Silverstone for the Britcar race meeting. Thankfully the forecast thunderstorms for the afternoon did not happen, but is was nice and wet early morning, just how I like it.

Morning warm up at 9.00am was only 20 minutes, no point in going trackside so I stayed in the pitlane. Pointless getting soaked so early in the day when the 2 hour racewould not be starting till 3.55pm.

A nice "rooster tail" shows how wet the track was
