150mph on country roads in the pouring rain. Sure why not.

Some slower Classic car action this past Sunday, the Vintage Sports Car Club Sprint Trials at Curborough. The day started not wet but damp which made the conditions interesting but the sun came out after lunch which gave some nice light.

If you're uploading to POTN, then you're only allowed 2 photos. If you're linking from and outside host, then you can share more, I believe up to 8 per post.

Went out to see a Blue Angels practice at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Really like how these pics let you see in the FA 18 cockpit. Can almost read their kneeboards in the original.

I've yet had the opportunity to see the superhornet blues. Someday.... someday.

It was a glorious day at Silverstone for the British GT meeting, this time it was the Silverstone 500, one race over 3 hours.

Plenty of time to move around the circuit allowing different angles to be had.

Here is just one shot of what turned out to be a very frustrating day. Silverstone is the type of track where big glass comes out, early morning was fine, race start at 11.30 and sun in full glory, which meant one thing... heat haze !
and what a problem it was. After an hour I gave up and got the 300 out, even that was not perfect, but better. It was only when you got really close at the one or two places you can and used the 70-200 you were ok.

Still, here's a shot with the 500 which when viewed small is acceptable, in my opinion, and I just love the distortion the heat combined with shallow DoF gives.

I'll post some more when I've finished sorting them out.

I've been to Spa 3 or 4 times now (One of my favourite tracks as it happens) with work watching our sponsored car (Hard life but someone has to take one for the team!) and the best one was when it was wet - was also allowed on the old pit straight that year so got some nice shots with the spray behind them.

I decided to reach into a Blue Angels formation and see what happened. This is the original crop and I love it.

I have to admit I am not a great fan of mirrorless for no other reason than my 1dx Mark 111 does everything and then some.
If it aint broke don't change it!

With that in mind I have just ordered my second 1dx Mark 111 at a cost of AUD10,000.00
Comes with two 512gig cards.

Not cheap but bloody beautiful camera!
