I received my 1DX3 yesterday along with two 128 GB Sony CFExpress cards. Under what conditions do you see the Error 70? I'll try to reproduce it.

If you shoot in High Speed Continuous in either mechanical or via electronic shutter and live view, while bursting the error happens. Not all the time but fairly frequently.

It also seems to happen more after transferring images via card reader. The last couple of times I re-formatted the card and the problem seems to go away for a bit.

I absolutely love this camera! Mind you I moved up from a 5D Mark III and an 80D, but the camera has really impressed me.
The focus isn't spot on, but I love the shot!

I received my 1DX3 Wednesday afternoon, and I'm feeling good about it. It was easy to set up given that I've been using a 1DX2 for the past few years. I only have one complaint so far. Just for fun, I took two bursts of about 100 shots each. After doing so, I got my first sensor spot! I hope it's not oil like the 1DX2. In any case, here are a few shots:

Gotta start with wildlife:

Psuedo-macro:

Our house is at just 60 feet of elevation. There's a mountain 7 miles east of us that is 4000 feet high. Obviously the mountain is used as a tree farm. Please note the small group of trees on the ridgeline just to the left of the center of the photo.

IMAGE: http://www.lj3.com/1dx3/04_home.jpg

This is that group of trees. It's a heavy crop from a 560mm shot. I'm pleased with the sharpness.

And finally our little propane fire pit.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Keep an eye on the spots. I was warned by another UK purchaser who complained to Canon about the same issue and eventually returned his mkiii after identifying multiple spots on his sensor. My mkii was the same initially, but once it was worn in, it stopped after a couple of cleans and is no worse than any other body.

I have had a few spots. I cleaned myself a couple times and CPS cleaned it while it was there for a different matter. Cleaned up easy. Not sure if it was oil or dust.

It's raining in the Seattle area today. A little while ago, it rained pretty hard. I could see splashes on our patio, and I wondered if they could be photographed given 16 frames per second:

Mine was worst in the beginning, but I still sent it to CPS a couple of times a year.

What swabs and cleaning solution do you use?

Robin came back this morning. Not at all bothered by me - more interested in some grub.

I use the swabs and their solution, I do not use the Aero solution they offer too. Used the same for my 1dx Mark II for years

They are stunning! Small birds in flight, I've yet to master - not sure I'll ever get as good as these!
