I'll let you know if you tell me what tethering cable you got. I can't believe tether tools is the only option.

I bought a cable from amazon. Everything works fine with no issues except the rear display remains on while connected.

Thanks. I need 15ft one. I'll probably go with tether tools. I'll report once I get it.

No problem. I don’t know if the rear display is supposed to remain on or not while tethering. But like I said everything else works just fine with no issue. Let me know. I’m also on capture one.

How are your displays set? What is the display timer setting?

Okay. Got my cable.
I shoot tethered so I can see images big on my monitor. In other words I always have camera in my hands so camera LCD(s) are always on.
When camera is on tripod and I want to shoot from Capture One, camera LCD is on. As soon as I enter Live View in Capture One, camera LCD goes off. So it works as it's suppose to I guess.

It works like that for me as well. It’s when I don’t use live view on my laptop that’s an issue.

When I shots tethered not using live view my LCD remains on even when I set the camera to turn off LCD after a min.

When I put the camera down to let’s say adjust exposure in capture one the LCD on my camera remains on. Again..... not using Live View.

Yeah I see what you mean. Try turning on live view in capture one and then closing it right away - that turns off camera lcd and keeps it off,

so it does the same thing for you? LCD remains on outside of live view?

Yes it stays ON but isn't that a regular state of mirrorless camera - when camera is ON one of LCDs is ON.
This is my first mirrorless so my logic might be flawed.
