Has anyone had experience processing a RAW image (Canon) in Capture One but using PhotoLab3 for the noise reduction Prime engine from DxO? The real question here is, can I make RAW file modifications with Capture One & DxO without having to export to TIFF at some point? From Capture One I can 'open with' PhotoLab3 where I can use the Prime engine for noise reduction, but if I use 'edit with' from Capture One, it wants to export to a TIFF, DxO's Prime Noise Reduction Engine only works on RAW files. If I 'open with', I can make the modifications but it seems that I have to export to TIFF in order to get it back to Capture One with the edits. I am sure this is the way it is but wanted to see if anyone had any other experience.

Thank you,

Tom

It is not possible to use more than one RAW converter at a time, so any RAW only work flow would be limited to the one converter. So you will need to decide which program you want to use for any particular conversion and stick with it. The moment you need to use some sort of external editor you will have to render the RAW to a bitmap format.

Thanks Alan,

I think I knew as much, just thought maybe I was missing something. PhotoLab3 seems to have a better noise reduction engine that Capture One. I'll have to see how to work it into the work flow.
