The only reason I would keep my 7Dmk2 would be for the FPS for sports and wildlife because I enjoy shooting in those fields from time to time. The crop factor with the reach helps but the FPS would be more important for me. So that would be the reason I keep it.

In relation to the mirrorless, the rumored R5 that has came to light especially with today’s information confirmed for the most part, it looks like it may give me the best of both worlds FPS and Mirrorless. I just don’t see the need to keep two bodies and if I want to at least invest in new technology with the R5 as I adapt my EF glass and invest in the RF glass in the future.

This is where it's a win, win situation in many cases. Even though I have a full Sony kit for my purposes I can simply buy an R5 and benefit adapting my EF glass.

The thing I'd like to see is how the EOS R5 will render. Across the board all mirrorless are extremely tack sharp and digital looking. Fuji aps-c and Fuji GFX have a certain engineered look that attempts to mimic film. Some take offence but I call it cooked raw files from the Fuji engineers. The Fuji files do have a more "easier on the eyes" look with very minimal tweaking. I recall my 80D to have very nice looking files with a certain render between a Fuji look and 5dmk4. 80D had this very nice smoother render while retaining sharpness. My Sony A73 is cleaner and crisp looking vs Fuji which is partly how I post process.

What peaks my interest in the R5 is how it reacts when in AWB in challenging light. Currently my Sony A73 is not as spot on like my 5dmk4 in AWB. Another hopeful improvement is AF in low light.
