Thanks to you too, Mark.

Update: A highly recommended neurosurgeon will operate on my husband's neck tomorrow. Why not today? Only because he has four surgeries scheduled and doesn't want this one to be the fifth. Husband doesn't want it to, either.

This news is a relief. No photos, but it seems I spotted an emergency.

Sometime I'll get back to taking pictures. No opportunities recently except when I happened to see something while on errands and took a few quick shots.

All the best for the surgery. My cousin had something similar about ten years back. It totally fixed the balance/coordination issue. Hopefully all works out for the best.

CC always welcome.

Crossing fingers and toes for you and your husband, Look...
My partner had a similar problem and surgery was the cure..
I also had a similar problem 5 years ago and had Neuro-Spinal surgery
I'm upright and walking again and at the gym and better than ever.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you and your husband, Oh.
I'm sure all will go well and you will get a well-deserved break and your husband will recover pretty fast.
Keep us posted, please

Thank you all for your hopes and wishes and crossed digits, and especially for the success stories. I had no idea that this spinal problem was so common.

I visited him today. He was in good spirits, all things considered. My mental state is still dodgy. Life at home hasn't been normal for a long time. For the near future, it will also be abnormal but in a different way.

OhLook, try to stay hydrated and nourished while your husband is in surgery. It’s so easy to ignore our own needs while worrying about others. Thinking of you both!

Thank you. Good advice. Yes, I do pay attention to my health. Water and food, no problem. Sleep, not so easy.

Thank you, Kevin.

I waited at the hospital three hours yesterday and didn't get to see him; schedules had changed, I had to leave rather than walk home in the dark. Met briefly with the surgeon. Surgery went well, took an hour and a half, no complications. Some bone removed in neck, pins inserted for strength. Don't expect fast improvement; spinal cord was bruised. Extent of recovery is unknown. Focus on the near future for now, next days instead of months.

Husband phoned about 9:30 p.m., groggy, had just woken up. We'll talk again today.

I'm still emotionally shocked, trying to sleep enough, catch up on things. Neighbors help with tasks that require driving.
