Planning my next trip and this time to Brasil's Amazon (October 2020). Plan to fly into Manaus and then hire a guide to take me in a small boat up river for about a week to explore and photograph wildlife.

Not too long ago I bought my 1st mirrorless Canon R which I'm really enjoying. I also have a 7D Mark II (as well as a 6D Mark II). Just wondering whether the 7D Mark II might be a better choice versus the Canon R for my wildlife needs. I do plan to take 2 bodies. Just wonder of the 3 which would be the better combination. Besides wildlife the Amazon offers some spectacular landscape opportunities so I want to take that into account as well. Thank You.

I'd keep the longest lens (your 70-300mm) on the 7D2. No question.
It's go the most capable fast action AF tracking, and the most pixel density ("reach")

Then the only decision is which FF to mount a wide or midrange on. (24-70mm)
Is the tokina APS-C? Assuming it is, I'd stick with 24mm on FF as my widest.

I've not shot the 6D2, but I would probably go R for the superior sensor, and extra portability.
Nice too that the 7D2 and R (and I assume 6D2) use the same batteries.

Consider the amazing macro opportunities as well, the R's screen and manual focus assist will help there is very low light of the canopy. Bring some form of lighting, even if its a flashlight.

No idea what the Canon R is like for number of shots per battery, but I would take the two most battery frugal bodies, if going deep into the jungle where recharge is iffy.

You do not say what time of year you will be going but I would take them both as the jungles can get very wet and higher humidity, all playing hell on sensitive electronics.

I've updated my gear list since it hasn't been updated in awhile. In addition, my travel to the Amazon is scheduled for October 2020 which, from what my guide tells me, is one of the lesser rainier times for that region.

Consider protection from humidity to prevent fungus. Many lodges have cabinets heated with a light bulb for this purpose. The bulbs are usually low power, so I'm not sure how effective those setups are. You can buy silica gel cartridges that should be very effective in reducing humidity provided your stuff is in a sealed container. If you are staying only a week, I'm guessing the risk of fungus is not that great.
