After GM just announced that the Holden car brand is to be discontinued, a lot of folks in both Australia & New Zealand are in shock.
Who will they cheer for now at Bathurst? What will become of the Supercar championship? Was Jim Richards right after all?

My first real car was a LJ GT-R Torana (the two Mini's previously didn't really count)

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

I'll see what I can find of the other various Holdens I've owned over the years, but feel free to post your Holdens here :-)

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
TF posting: here :-)

Such a thread would not be complete without a shot (or two) of Sir Peter Brock:
Wellington streetrace, I think 1991 but could be wrong (Canon AE-1, scanned from print)

Indeed. I wonder what he'd be thinking of GM's latest move.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Outside my place in 1994. I'd just bought the blue one in the driveaway. Just a 2 door. Body was rough.
Previous owner worked in an engine building shop so engine had all the right bits and made the right noises.

VK was a BT1 (ex Police, so Brock running gear). Previous owner fitted a genuine Brock body kit and had the Aeros machined.
Engine started spitting water so rebuilt with all the good stuff. Only budget move was TRW forged flat tops instead of Chevy flat top pistons (extra $1000 in 1996).
I added Recaros and had them retrimmed therest of interior to match. Only had an M21 4 speed so topped out at 200ks, but it got there very fast.

And my bog stock LH.

I very stupidly put the VK into a tree.
So engine, diff centre and rear brakes went into my HZ 1 Tonner.
And yes, I have Ford 12 slot hub caps on my Chev Rally wheels.

My VTII ex highway patrol. When I first had it other drivers often pulled back into left lane and I got waved through a radar trap once...
It was a rare Commodore, last of the Aussie V8s, they moved to LS-1 Chev the following month and a 5 speed.

And my 1 Tonne once the Redneck machine build complete.

You know you're a bogan when you mow the front lawn and find a dead Holden.

You can make a car go faster, by painting it yellow with stripes:
