Dad had some drills like those and in my young foolishness I donated them one cleaning session. Years later I recalled them and thought  About having donated them.

My grandfather had a couple drills like these too, but for some reason I don't have them. These are just some that I picked up at a local flea market. They aren't really functional, but could easily be brought back to life with a cleaning and lubrication. I'll be selling these soon since my prop storage is getting crowded.

This is a beautiful shot. I love the light, the composition and the processing. Really great!

Some years ago I bought a Soligor 135mm f/1.5 lens to add a little flavour to my portrait shots, but I never really fell in love with the results. The colours were wrong, and the colours and bokeh was just a little distracting. The fact it was 2.8kg (over 6 pounds) meant it mostly stayed at home as an effective, (but expensive) paperweight.

A while ago I took it for a walk through the garden and found that it liked flowers and the recent mother's day reminded me of this lens so I dusted it off and gave it a run and the strange colours, weird bokeh and general softness that doesn't work for portrait work makes it perfect for still life.

Another great one, as always. I guess it's the curved leaves and the fibrous roots that make me wonder whether you have done or might do something with string, twine, rope.

PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | A FEW CORRECT SPELLINGS: lens, aperture, amateur, hobbyist, per se, raccoon, whoa | Comments welcome

Thank you. :-)

No I did nothing to these items other than sprout them in some water. The leaves and roots sprouted and grew as you see them. All I did was drape the leaves of the onion around the shallot in order to get them in the frame and for composition purposes.

We have a misunderstanding here. To clarify: I was asking about string and so forth as a subject you might use in the future or may have used for a photo I missed.
