Canon has registered a new camera with interchangeable lens capability in Taiwan. See https://photorumors.com (external link) …era-registered-in-taiwan/.

What I find of interest is the mention of a LP-E6NH battery (note the “H”) with a 2130 mah capacity. Not that battery life is a problem with the LP-E6 or LP-E6N but increased capacity is never a bad thing as long as it doesn’t come at a substantial cost.

I’m not folowing the R5 close enough to know.

Unfortunately the link I supplied originally was not a static link so the content has changed. This one is current.

Some content

A new Canon interchangeable lens camera was registered under the code DS126832 with the Taiwan NCC. The new model is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. It will use the LP-E6NH battery (7.2V, 2130mAh), IFC-100U USB cable (Type-C) and it will be compatible with the RS-60E3 remote switch and 600EX-RT speedlight.

Not much to go on. :)
