Trying to decide between these two for my next lens purchase. Which would you choose? Has anyone used both? Did you find the tamron to be worth the additional cost?

What mount are you looking for?

I’m partial to Sigma because one I’ve never had an issue and the last few years having been buying the dock compatible line. Having said that, the 35mm Art is available refurbished for $679. See https://www.sigmaphoto.com/35mm-f14-dg-hsm-a-refurbished (external link)

I do note that Adorama has the lens (Canon mount) new with the dock for $699.

Would be nikon mount for my d810. Right now they have the sigma 35 on sale for $699 brand new vs the tamron is $899 so that alone has me leaning towards the sigma unless there is someone who has used both and can say its worth the extra? With them also including the dock at that price is another plus cause i have a sigma 50 1.4 art being delivered wednesday.

I don't own one but the 35mm gets very good reviews. One review mentions a "con" as "It barely has 90 degrees of focus throw, and the distance between 6 feet and infinity is TINY." On the plus side I also saw a review where it is stated that the lens is so sharp that the lens can be left at f/2.8 and only change from that for the sake of gaining DOF.
