While watching some YouTube videos, in the sidebar were several about lens focus calibration.
I hadn't really thought about calibrating a lens, but after I get these videos watched, I may decide to give it a go. (with DISH, I have to wait until between 2:AM and 6:AM to watch videos)

Thinking about this procedure brought a question to mind; if a person has three lenses, for instance, installs one of them and follows the procedure, will that be thrown out the window when one of the other lens is installed ? Or, does the camera remember the calibration for each specific lens and thus should a person calibrate each lens they own individually?
Once calibrated, will the camera recognize each lens and remember that lens specific calibration and adjust itself accordingly ?

I hope I worded my question such that it makes sense.
Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.

To be honest I don't know the answer to your question. But more importantly, why do you feel you need to calibrate your lenses? Are your images out of focus? I have nothing against calibration but if your lenses are fine you are just making extra work for yourself ;-)a

It depends on the camera as the micro-focus capabilities have evolve3d since first being introduced, but even in it's earliest form. all Canon cameras can either MFA on a one setting for the whole body (rarely used I think as lenses vary so much) and on a per-lens basis. However, there are limitations so check your manual. For instance, say you have three copies of a certain lens, you can't MFA each separately. It will only do one.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I am not specifically having any negative focus issues; but, the fact that they call it lens calibration instead of camera calibration brought the question to mind.
As suggested, I will study my manuals and see what I can learn from there.
If it is such that each lens can be calibrated individually and the camera remember the settings for each specific lens, then it may very well be worth the effort.

Our DSLR camera fleet at the moment consists of two Rebel T3/1100D, a 7D, and a 7DMkII

The 7D and 7D Mk2 remember the adjustments for each lens.

I don’t know about the T3.

Thanks; Since that be the case, when I have a bit of time, I will set up a target and check things out.
