What do people think of this? Any improvements, do you think it would look better with a tigher crop?

This was shot a couple of months back in a small motel in Quebec, Canada. Stopped there on a snowmobile tour.

I quite like it, thinking about get a large print done, so was wondering if anyone could suggest any improvements, or just let me know what you think.

C&C welcome. look forward to your feedback.

Chris

Cropping? I'm unsure, but the sign would definitely be better placed off-centre to the left with the arrow pointing to a black void, IMO. :-)

That's more like it -- though a tad more, just a sliver more, black on the left would get the sign spot on, CMP!! :D

I personally like the shot as is. I think (my opinion so dont feel the need to go to quebec to get them) is if you had a different angle. right now your shooting from the right side of this sign, I think it maybe better from the left, the arrow point "back" into the darkness. but thats me.

This picture is great though! I wouldnt mind having a copy on the wall! I actually used to work at a night club in tokyo, this picture certainly would have looked GREAT there! Nice shot!

did you burn those black areas in? or was that all natural?

Thank you for the kind comments. If im ever in quebec again, ill try again :P

burned the edges in a tad, mostly was natural though, just required a little touching up.

:D thanks. I spent ages looking at it, never even occured to move it over to the left. I think it looks much better now. Thanks for the advice.
