I especially like the menacing talons in the second frame. What focal length is this? (i.e., how close?!) :)

Another great post. You are having a banner year with the eagles!

Now....back to the foxes; they are feeling neglected ߘ

Thanks very much Dave. How close was about 75 feet or so, he landed on the ice right in front of us.

LOL hi Greg, many thanks. Eagles are always my fallback favourite subjects. The spot where my foxes hang out is still buried too deep in snow to get to them. I'm going through fox withdrawal.

Oh my word, in the second shot he is not flying safely!! He needs to keep his eyes on the sky in front of him! He is going to cause a collision!!

His insurance rate will go sky high now for sure!!!! ;-)a

I wonder if birds ever do collide in real life because of that????

Some wonderful captures, there, Ian :) I particularly like that 2nd, landing shot; and, you're only the second person I've seen catching one eating 'on the fly' like that (I caught one doing it a year or two ago) and had no idea they were able to do so.

Haha Charles, Yes, distracted flying for sure. I've never seen an accidental midair collision, but sure have seen some intentional ones.

Hi Eric, yea it was funny watching him flying circles overhead, eating as he went. I've seen and captured it before.
