Saturday I cooked up a huge pot of spaghetti sauce with italian sausages,. we've had it twice fro dinner and once for lunch.

Tomorrow I will be cooking the corned beef I got for St Patties which we pretty much skipped this year.
It was on sale, it was a week before the SHTF so plenty was in stock, so I bought FOUR! Plus two cabbag3s and two bags of carrots, and 2 lbs of potatoes :)

When the weather gets good, I'll smoke up the ribs in the basement freezer :)

I BBQ year round in my smokers (2) and grills (3)

Pennsylvania has closed ALL businesses except life sustaining

that includes accountants and your taxes still must be filed by April 15th although you have until July to pay, not you have to do your own

I hope the American Chemical Society is considered a reliable source. There are several compounds under consideration as COVID-19 therapy.

As the Chinese have done much of this work, it would be wise for our National Command Authority to humbly ask them to share their clinical trial information so we could perhaps make faster use of these therapies. My WeChat feed suggests that some of our customers may have some of these compounds available now.

ACS can be trusted. Good to see efforts toward finding cures and vaccines.

Had to agree with statements Jake made a few pages back. I hope this thread will stay civil and unlocked as it can be an instant way of hearing from our photography friends around the world. It has always seemed to me that most of us share our interest in photography though it's not usually our livelihood.

It can remain very informative how we are all coping, what our countries are doing to take precautions or treatments that may be helping, things that are not working, it's going to be different for many of us, drastic changes in way of life for some and very little change for others.Maybe we will learn more about and from one another, a feeling of being better acquainted.

I think we can all agree, this illness as most are, can be contracted by any one, our financial, race, occupation, etc. has no bounds, we are all at risk.
Seems that each day brings more news, different ideas, more restrictions, we all need to stay up to date best we can.

For myself, isolation is easy, where I live and most of my work is isolated, we are accustomed to being prepared for many days of isolation, it's just what you do living in the country on bad winter roads. My work is all outside and away from people, farming, working on forest projects and painting contractor. It's looking like my projects may be divided differently this year as to where I spend most of my time.
We had an Alaskan trip planned in May but 3 weeks ago my wife suffered a heart attack. Miraculously she was locally stabilized then transported by ambulance 110 miles to a large trauma 1 hospital where she received excellent life saving treatment. Just 3 weeks ago an event such as this was easier to cope with, our daughter, son-in-law and I were all allowed to be with her around the clock. Those rules have been changed!!
Now my wife has been going to rehab, doing quite well thankfully. Her rehab is at our local hospital, she has guidelines to follow going in as well as leaving. During the rehab they monitor all her vitals, they say she is doing well and getting much stronger. I believe soon the rehab at the hospital will cease. My thoughts are , she's going to a hospital where there will be sick people then returning to her isolated home where she feels safe and secure. IMO, Point Lost on her and myself being isolated.

Not a bad set of photos Jeff but could you include the house number next time? Or maybe GPS coordinates in the EXIF? :p

Jake- does that apply to both state and federal? I've only heard federal thus far, but I don't know if states follow suit.

So sorry to hear about your wife Steve and we're all wishing for a speedy recovery. It truly is amazing the difference that a few weeks makes. Really glad that a supportive family could be at her side.

Just 9 days ago I had "surprise" root canal surgery, hardly anything to compare with your wife's situation, but the office was packed and it was business as usual. Yesterday my wife had a bridge replaced from one that had disintegrated. Before her visit the Dental Board had visited our dentist, got rid of all the office magazines, and made him pack up his ornamental "holiday" tree. Also, more than one person can be in the waiting room at a time. To achieve this they schedule one patient per hour with an empty hour in between. They spray everything down at that time.

Over here everything has closed: public places like restaurants, bars, sportclubs, you name it. Many shops have closed as well, big chains as well as small shops. Today the government announced a total lock down of nursing homes to protect the elderly. Only the people who are dying are allowed company so they don't have to die alone.

The streets of Amsterdam are empty. Traffic is almost non-existent. Even in the daytime it's quiet. Only those that need to be on the road (delivering groceries, parcels etc.) are. People are urged to stay at home, work from home, to avoid contact with other people. No social gathering but social distancing. The Eurovision Songcontest, which was to be held here in the Netherlands as we won last year, has been canceled. Everything is being cancelled. Sportevents, concerts, you name it.

Strange times.
Scary times.

I have astma and am concerned. I home-isolate. I only go out for groceries. I wanted to have them delivered but that's not even possible now. Too great a demand. No new customers. Super markets are working hard to remedy this.

I had an appointment for an MRI. The hospital canceled the appointment. Let's hope I don't have a brain tumour...

Here's what Amsterdam looks like now. Filmed by Dutch film director Dick Maas, on a scooter, riding through the city centre. The heart of Amsterdam, normally full of people having a good time, now the streets are empty.

Jeff, be advised that I will be coming over for dinner. Please shelter-in-place inside, so we can maintain proper social distancing without inadvertant infraction of the required distance.
In view of your northern locale, might I inquire if you have any space heaters? Hopefully you have two, one for Jake and one for me. We can have a POTN meeting in SE MA

Mouthwateringly,
--Wilt

The update is that for Fed income tax, the filing date is still April 15, and you have a 60 day extension for payment without penalty, so pay by July 15.

sapearl, thank you for your comments. Sorry to hear of your dental visits, honestly I have more fear of dental procedures than about anything else,
Our daughter is a dental assistant and they have went to an emergency care only until further notice. Since she works for the oral surgeon of the group and does many procedures in the hospital her hours haven't changed much but others will probably have their hours shortened a great amount soon.
