Your probably older than me, even my kid who is 28 knows what they are; mind he calls it vinyl, now shellac 78 rmp, that is getting older. :-P

My parents were majorly displeased when they discovered that I had been playing 'FlyingSaucers' with the 78s. Of course Earth averted a major invasion because the Martian's saucers broke up on landing.

"Martian's? Flying saucers? Who ever heard of such a thing?" The Martians could not regroup because there were not many left, one Louis Armstrong I believe.

Would you have a link to share where this is being discussed? Based on what you've written, though, it's not that they're "deciding" anything, but they seem to have a specific methodology in place to determine whether someone has or not any kind of immunity... whether it's a good methodology is still very much up in the air.

The 'decision' will indeed be based on a process/study:

Still perusing the Guardian, and this article is simply chilling: https://www.theguardian.com …tark-reminder-of-pandemic (external link). Below the second 'quick guide', it talks of how doctors/health care professionals have been retirement, but some are refusing/asking for last-minute pension changes to ensure proper compensation to their families if they die going back to the frontlines... Absolutely abnormal to be seeing this. Still, seems like the recall is working, and is a good thing as well, because the story notes the passing of 2 NHS workers due to COVID-19.

Thanks for the link. Bad situation in the UK, but they are getting the measure of the crisis. It is going to take a while.

Also there are several very good links in that article.

Thanks! Yes, the Guardian is a very good newspaper, all things considered (I'd still toss out their style guide if I were them, but in today's world, proper English is harder to come by than good news!). They have several good articles about the situation in New Zealand, where it seems they're getting a good chance at, relatively speaking, nipping this epidemic in the bud. It seems like the instructions that they give their citizens is much more targeted and clear than what we get here in Canada or the US: https://www.theguardian.com …d-spike-in-lockdown-anger (external link). They apparently even have a website to denounce people that break the lockdown rules. I'll definitely have to visit NZ sometime in the next few years (though my first trip abroad once this is over will almost certainly be to visit friends in GB and the Netherlands).

I saw story today about what California had invested in for a situation like we are having now, too bad they abandoned it.

I saw that as well but then I have also read that it doesn't really work as well as hoped.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

One unexpected side-effect of the Pandemic is I am getting FAR FEWER spam calls. This makes sense since a lot of them come from densely staffed Call Centers. Likely they are not so densely staffed anymore, if at all...……...

That's a good thing. I have not had a single spam call in weeks :)

But then I looked at this article and shook my head in disbelief!

We got rid our of our landline 8 months ago for that reason. We don't get many on our cells.

We don't answer any number we don't recognize. We let ring out and 90% of the time no messages are left. Blocking is useless because they change the number continually.

On the other hand we are rich. Just got an email telling me I was awarded $950,000 for the Eradication if Poverty. :-) Someone is still working.

Be careful everyone. Let our friends and family know about the scammers on both sides of the border and all over the world trying to scam coronavirus relief payments, etc. Especially the elderly. We watched the news and this will start to ramp up.

I use Mac mail and set it up so the entire email address shows and I'm forced to load remote content.

Really unfortunate. But it is just one of many examples. People are doing it everywhere, just on a smaller scale. And that is why the virus is spreading.
