Due to Covid-19 virus concerns, two air shows canceled. One show is not giving refunds, but may honor tickets for next year's show.

I was looking forward to photographing the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds. Oh well :-(

Anyone else having their photography plans derailed due to the Corona virus?

All three March SoCal Airshows are cancelled, there was a show for this weekend also.

I am less than two months from 60 and have asthma, I would not have gone to any of them anyway.
Hopefully cancellation of these shows helps save some people from sickness or worse.

I see the NCAA cancelled the March Madness basketball tournament today, it seems every sport or event is on hold or cancelled. I wonder what the fate of the Olympics will be.

... I wonder what the fate of the Olympics will be.

An event where you pull people from most countries into a single location for a couple weeks, mix them up in close proximity and then send them back out worldwide...?

Many of these athletes have trained for most of their lives for this opportunity. And in many cases, will not be able to hold their peak level of performance for a four-year delay. Very unfortunate, but it's hard to assume that the Olympics will be held short of a miracle or breakthrough discovery.

And the secret trial runs of new camera equipment at each venue?

My thoughts on the Olympics is wondering what could be done to save it in the event that COVID-19 is still a a threat come summer, maybe delaying it until next year could be an option worth investigating.

I had already started a degree of 'distancing', but not quite lockdown yet.

I was due to go and watch my son take part in his first triathlon this weekend, but decided it wouldn't be wise heading into a big crowd given my pre-existing medical conditions.

The Australian F1 GP was cancelled an hour or so ago, with the event already set-up and people attending practice. That's hundreds of millions of dollars down the drain.

5D3, 7D2, EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-70 f/2.8L II, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II, EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF 1.4x III, Sigma 150mm macro, Lumix LX100 plus a cupboard full of bags, tripods, flashes & stuff.

... and the Bahrain GP, as of now, is to be held without fans at the circuit. Of course, the Italian teams/fans won't be let back into Italy or out for the following races. I'm guessing they'll probably be no F1 races for the near/middle term.

I just received an email, the Planes of Fame Air Show 2020 held in Chino, California has been canceled.

Instead, they will hold an aviation festival later this year.

Let's hope the Corona virus problem is over by then.

Even now, athletes around the world are unable to train, in preparation for the Olympics!
I think the IOC is derelict in putting off any announcement about the Tokyo games.

It should have been postponed to next year or cancelled by now.

It will be. I have no doubt. I think the IOC simply kicked the can down the road, scared to cancel such a huge event. They will ultimately have no choice. It will be cancelled very soon, IMO.

It seems like everyone is doing the same. Our school district told us they'd be closed for two weeks a week ago. Then they changed the return to mid April. The governor has said he doesn't expect school to resume this school year. That's 1/3 of the school year gone and 6 months off when you add in summer vacation. Even our soccer organization's national leadership is saying "end of April" after saying "two weeks off". Meanwhile those of us at the local level are left in limbo, wondering what to believe.
