I took advantage of this offer,
I was using a free beta at one point, and the interface was really challenging.
I ended up paying the mere $25.00 because for quite some time, Affinity had RAW support for the 1DX3, but Capture One was dragging it's heals. I figured for $25.00 why not give it another try.

My feelings are it is DEFINITELY worth $25.00

That said I have a few major caveats for the application.

- My biggest grip: Although it replicates most of the same tools we see in other applications like PS, Draw, Paintshop, etc. it has tried to hard to be different. A bit like "MetaCreations" of yore (anyone remember them? Kai's Power tools, Poser, Bryce, etc.) the desire to make the terminology "fresh" and the interface "different", has only made it more difficult to learn IMHO. Everything has it's own cute name, none of which make any intuitive sense to anyone that has ever used any graphics app previously. All conventions seem to be thrown out in the interest of uniqueness. But in the end, other than the new name and the different way of using it, there is little that is actually new or unique.

- It does have a RAW develop mode, but it is limited.

- For an app that is mostly a PS replacement, but can also serve as your RAW converter, it lacks a lot of the most basic tools I would want including an integrated browser. One must few and organize your files in another app.

It does look like you get a LOT of power for the $25.00, and particularly for newer users that have not been working with all the similarly themed apps since the late 90's I am sure the learning curve will be less difficult.

Is this a standalone software? meaning, pay once and done? or would we keep having to pay more down the line?

CC always welcome.

Pay once and done. It really is a bargain!
