Opinion? It's a comet. It's not some doomsday "Carona" garbage if that's what you're getting at.
If you're meaning how bright we think it might get, well..... that's anybody's guess at this point. I've seen quite a few with this kind of hype that just ends up fizzling out.

True, The only good thing about being unemployed right now due to the virus lock-down is I'll have time to image it if the weather holds out.

I'd be happy if it competes with Lovejoy C/2014 Q2.
I doubt it will be another Hyakutake C/1996 B2.

Comet Bennett, Comet West, and Comet Kohoutek were the 3 biggies in the 70's. I saw Kohoutek in 73' and that's what got me into astronomy at 8 years of age.

Yes, I believe so. I know Kohoutek was because I saw it from the northern hemisphere. It was supposed to be spectacular with all the news hype as it was getting closer. It ended up being easily spotted naked eye from a dark location and looked great in photographs. It was nothing like Hyakutake in 1996. I could easily see it naked eye standing in the French Quarter of New Orleans. That's my best ever comet sighting.

An interesting thing about these bright comets if you do a little research, any time there's a bright comet coming near us, the religious folks always go crazy, calling it a sign from God that the end is near. And yet they come and go... This time around with ATLAS and this COVID-19 virus, I'm really surprised I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe I've just learned to tune them out. It seems like a perfect combo for them. Read about David Berg and Comet Kohoutek or Heaven's Gate and Comet Hale-Bopp more recently.

Think I heard something mentioned about its tail if it came close to Earth could have some bad stuff in it - not really sure what they ment though.
