Hello fellow POTNers,

Added a 7D2 to my gear bag, and my other 7D2 is pretty well customized, from button configuration to picture styles, custom functions, focus modes, etc.

Do any of you know -or have tried- to clone or copy the settings from one camera to another?

Otherwise I'll have to sit with both cameras side by side, and go page by page, sub-menu by sub-menu, mirroring the settings.

Hope everyone is well and staying safe!... Charge your batteries, we'll be out there in no time and snapping frames away :)

All the best,

After a quick Google search, it looks like the 7d2 doesn't have the save settings to card option like the 1d series bodies do, but apparently Focal software allows you to transfer settings

Thanks! I was hoping not to have to shell out 60 bucks just to transfer settings, though Focus Plus does seem to have quite a few nifty features!.. definitely worth checking out.

Thought I'd check in POTN, with the camera out for 5-6 years, if there was a way to do it, someone would know.

Thanks again! :)

Stay safe.

Before making a purchase, I would contact customer support to see if the Camera Information Tool actually supports the transfer of settings, camera to camera. The website clearly says it can be used to restore a camera to some previous saved settings, but no where do I find discussion about transfer between cameras. If it doesn’t support the feature, voice your displeasure. You might also suggest some software to just do settings transfer, at an attractive stand alone price. Some people would likely pay $25 for such a tool, maybe something like $20 of that could be applied to the “full” FoCal package if purchased within 60 days.
