Hello, hoping someone knows what happen to my camera. Had a little bump and after that all I see when shooting is the attached photo. Any idea what is it? Can I fix myself? Mirror looks good. Dont see anything out of whack in there.
Thank you

Check how it does at 1/8000 vs 1/30; live view with electronic first- and full-mechanical- curtain vs OVF.

Also, try video. Video should be unaffected by any curtain or mirror issue.

Are you seeing this abstract pattern when trying to view a previously taken photo or do you see this when trying to take another shot? Also which Canon camera are you using?

Does it happen regardless of the memory card you use?

Does the camera record any sort of image on the memory card? if so & it's okay, you may just have a damaged display.
If the recorded image looks like this then you're in for bigger repairs...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

^ This is what I was thinking...

Also curious, what is "a little bump"? 7d2 is a tank... where / how did it take the knock? Fall from a height? Tossed from a speeding train? Blocking a gunshot?

Very simple test...

1a. Set ISO 100 and 1/100 f/16 and take a JPG photo (assuming bright sun), or
1b. Set ISO 100 and 1/100 f/4 and take a JPG photo (assuming heavy overcast)

2. Remove memory card from camera. Put it into card reader on PC, open the photo file,
2a. if you see a full scene the shutter is working just fine, and the camera is writing the JPG properly to the memory card.
2b. if the photo is screwed up, your data is not being written to the memory card properly by the camera

If 2b, try a different memory card and repeat the test.

If 2a, put the memory card back in the camera and try to look at the photo on your LCD. If you cannot successfully see the same photo on the camera that you saw previously (2a) in the PC, your camera is in need of repair.

Thank you everybody for your tips and helpful hints. Camera shoots and records to card fine, just does not show images in screen. Ordered a new screen which I will try to replace. If I can't then will send to Canon.

Maybe the eletrical contacts between the body and the LCD became incomplete via the 'bump'?!
