I've always though it would be great to take air to air photographs. But since I'm only a hobbyist, the chances of being invited on such a flight are zero.
But I came across this company that provides such an experience, for a fee. Sounds interesting. If you look at their 2019 Missions, it seems that they
visit various airports across the U.S.

Any experience with this company?

That'd be interesting.

What happens when they do loop the loop, does the plane do similar :p
I'd pass if that was the case.
Certainly be a great adventure

No loops or inverted flying for the photographers, please ;-)a

When life gets back to normal I'll see about going for a ride.
Most likely it will be expensive.

I suspect it will be expensive, but maybe not as expensive as I think it might be. They are probably taking photos on their own anyway, and I guess they are making a little extra money by taking other people on the mission. All the upcoming missions on their web site are flights they are already going to do.

On the website they say some of the money is used to help maintain the warbirds. That's a good thing.
I guess this is no different than paying money to go on a photo tour, photo safari, or model shoot.
Only it's done in the sky.

I missed that

It get more expensive, then, since you are paying for two planes flying. The Bonanza isn't too bad, but the war birds use more gas, and need parts that aren't made anymore, in many cases, so they have to be specially produced. Magnetos, engine parts, brake pads, etc.

There's more companies that do these flights:

http://3gaviationmedia.com/ (external link)

http://www.centreofaviationphotography.com/ (external link)

This event was going to take place this month but has been canceled because of Corona:

http://3gaviationmedia.com/2020az-spring (external link)

When the prices were posted I believe it was $1000 USD for the morning flight and I believe $1200 or $1500 USD for the PM flight.

When I looked at their 2019 Mission page, it appears that many of the photo flights take place during air shows. So these warbirds are going
to fly any way.

Of course having the photo flights helps the warbird owners with some money.

Cool, looks like the business I mentioned isn't the only gig in town.

Have you checked out the Mustang Air To Air thread over on Fred Miranda (external link)?

For anyone who is an Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) member, their current monthly magazine (Sept 2020) has a full multi-page feature story on their premier air-to-air photographer for their magazine shoots and stories. Good article, about airplanes, but mostly the perspective and role of the photographer . . .

I read that, and it confirms it is nothing I would do alone, nor without training in formation flight.
