For a good many months now, I've had problems with two GeForce cards, my current one being a 1660.

The graphics just goes demented. I use it to drive three monitors. Most often, it intermittently blacks out my main monitor...and it seems to know which monitor I'm using as my "main" monitor even which I switch cables and ports around. So that one monitor will blink black intermittently. I swapped cables around, bought new cables, heck, over time for other reasons, I've even bought a new video card, new monitor, new motherboard, and new memory.

And that problem would come back. Go away for a few weeks, then come back.

In recent days, it's gotten worse. For some reason, every web browser I use would go totally batty. Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Brave, Edge...tabs would crash, the browser would crash, or it would just go graphically nuts. Eventually, Windows just turns off the Nvidia driver and throws me to its default driver.

What seems to fix these problems is re-installing the latest driver. I use the "studio" drivers because Nvidia says they are more stable and better tested than the gaming drivers. Reinstalling the latest driver always clears it up...

...for a while. So now I know to just go ahead and reinstall the driver when graphics go wacky.

But I don't know why this happens. As I've mentioned, I've built essentially an entire new computer since I first started having this problem. I can only think it's something inherently flaky in the driver code that was implemented maybe a year ago.

Wish I could help you, but I can't.
I can only say I use the exact same card (1660) to drive two (not three) monitors, and I use the latest version of the game drivers and have absolutely no problems.
One monitor off the DVI port, one off HDMI.
I'm still on Win 7 64.
The system is used with a wide array of apps including (but not limited to) Painter 2020, PS CC, Topaz AI and studio apps, ON1's latest Raw, and SKylum apps. All used as a plugin and stand-alone.
I have had only one problem: the TIF LZW compression produced by Gigapixel could not be opened in PS CS5 (on another machine), but I don't think that was a card problem. Perhaps a change in LZW compression - I resaved with no compression and it opened just fine.
So I can only say that I have had no problems whatsoever that I attribute to the card. Sorry. Perhaps it's something else.

Edit: I did have a problem with a 750 TI, and that is what the 1660 replaced. It periodically did not function - screens went to black. But that was on both output ports at the same time and it was 4 or 5 years old, so I just assumed it was past it's prime and replaced it.

Just a shot in the dark... My graphics went haywire on an older desktop unit years ago. Similar to yours, would work OK for a while, then go crazy, they come back to life, etc.

Turned out it was overheating. Bad fans in the cabinet. Get one of the freeware utilities that measures internal temps and monitor for a while.

That's never been the problem in my builds. I've been a cool-aholic since the early 200s when I was running those AMD processors that had zero ability to handle overheating. They just burned up like a piece of toast. I watch case and component temperatures like a hawk and have more fans than Sally Rand.

Unless your having a issue in the signal to the monitors might be a problem with the cards. If you got your old video cards try putting that one in and see what happens. Good luck.

Found this on Toms.
Two Sundays ago on May 29 I decided to connect an HDMI 2.0 cable which replaced my DisplayPort cable and it seems to be holding 10 days later. Eyefinity is also working perfectly with the single HDMI cable along with 2 DVI-D dual link cables.

It's become pretty apparent that DisplayPort cable just doesn't work properly with Eyefinity and it's a shame since DisplayPort allows for the 144hz refresh rate which my 3 monitors do offer. As mentioned earlier in this thread, my DisplayPort cable only seemed to work for an average of 4 days until I would lose that monitor's signal. I've searched high and low and I can't figure out why that is so I've given up on DisplayPort.

I am using DisplayPort. I have discovered that you really need an optimum cable and connection, which is why I use the cables with the plug locking mechanism.

I have a 1060 6gb card, and my issues are R/T refresh rate and sound drivers. I have the occasional black screen (I use my TV for my computer screen) which resolves in a second or two, but the sound drivers sometimes don't steart up properly so I have to restart to get them to engage.
