I know we have at least a small few users of monitors by Monoprice,
which is why I bring up the topic.
I have a pair of DELL Ultrasharp U2412M monitors, which are great,
and I really enjoy the 16:10 aspect ratio for the extra height.
However, they were purchased at different times and carry
different hardware-build and version numbers.
The newer one is, ironically, giving me some trouble, with signal noise.
It's a bit like static we used to see in TV signals of days of yore,
but with wonky color artifacts.
It matters not which input I use; the noise persists across video cards
and cables and inputs: DP, HDMI, VGA. "It's dying, Jim!"
Having said the preceding, I've been looking into 2K monitors,
with the aim of purchasing a pair. I think 27-inch is the most
my dual-monitor desk stand can accept, and I'd like to keep
the expense to roughly $500. 4K seems to be out of my running
as far as cost goes for a known maker and quality.
Newegg, Amazon and others have plenty to choose from, but I
remembered Monoprice and began looking into their offerings.
One thing I noticed in a Q&A was from a Staff member, who stated
that ALL monoprice monitors have a matte/satin/anti-reflective
property, which can be almost impossible to determine for many
of the "big" names in the industry. I abhor plain glass monitor surfaces
due to highly reflective properties.
So, please help me with my criteria:
1) Anti-glare/matte-finish surface
2) 24- to 27-inch screen
3) DVI-D and/or DP input, not MINI-DP. DP is preferred
4) Standard VESA mount, 75mm or 100mm
5) Cost to total ~$500 for a pair
I'm currently considering the Monoprice 27in CrystalPro Monitor
,
which would weigh in at $540 for the pair.
I believe my goal is attainable, while I'd very much appreciate feedback
from others who have likely been through this same scenario recenlty.
