After years of using multi-monitor setups, I finally purchased 1 very large curved one. Found a screaming deal on this at Microcenter for just over $1,100.

http://www.dell.com …/accessories/apd/210-ARNW (external link)

This thing looks large in the store, looks huge at home, I had to let the seats down in my car to get the box to fit. Got it home, unpacked it, Dell does a wonderful job of numbering the items in which order they want you to proceed to unpack this unit. I opted to use a full motion wall mount instead of it's stand due to the ability to move it out or around if I need to with ease, also I have a very large center channel that would be in the way of the Dell stand.

Plenty of inputs, 1 Display Port, 2 HDMI, 1 USB-C, 5 USB 3.0 Downstream, and 2 USB 3.0 Upstream ports. One thing I had to do was make sure my GPU was up to spec for the resolution (5120x 1440), I have found that some cards only support up to 4K on the display port, grabbed an ASUS Nvidia GTX 1660 Phoenix 6GB OC, works perfectly.

Out of the box the colors are beautiful on the monitor, left it in standard mode. Fired up Bridge and CS6 and put them side by side, heaven. Dell has a monitor Display Manager that has all kinds of features, one of them is the ability to split the screen up 40 ways, so when you drag app screens to your preferred setup, they snap in place.

My last setup was 2 Dell U2311H 23' Ultrasharp monitors, worked great for years, then one of them decided to start going. So far I am very pleased with this monitor, surfing the web, editing images, and occasionally watching videos, it works great.

Congrats!!! Looks like three 27” in one. How long/wide is it?

I have a dell P2715Q 4K that’s been good to me, color and brightness representation is pretty much dead on against Costco photo prints

I looked really closely at these types of displays since I was otherwise going to be getting 2x27" monitors for essentially the same real-estate.

Ultimately didn't get one because I wanted freesync/gsync support and the ability to run two screens side by side. These 32:9 displays support picture-by-picture but the refresh rate is locked and they lose freesync/gsync support in that mode. I'd love to go this route in the future but it'll depend on how that is handled, I'm not sure you can run two halves of the same panel at different refresh rates unless they actually have two separate drive circuits.

Still, next time I upgrade monitors I'm going to have my fingers crossed that these 32:9s mature more, HDR is cheaper, and I can get my dream monitor.

It's essentially two 27" 2560x1440 displays butted against each other.

Thanks! I don't think I can go back to side by side monitors after this. It is almost 48" wide, it worked out that my desk is the same width too. I toyed with the idea of getting a 2nd one and mounting it above this one.

I just purchased a pair of 27-inch 4k monitors at roughly half what you paid for the 49-incher,
and I couldn't be more pleased.
I'm awfully glad it suits your needs and you're happy with yours, however.
It's just that I need to think about my wife and OUR situation, rather than just myself, you know?

My purchase came in at US$508 plus some change.

What the pair gained for me:
Far less than I paid for the Dell U2412M's several years ago.
Went from 1920x1200 to full-on 4k 3840x2160 per display.
Reduced display separation from over one inch to around a half inch.
Far better Dynamic Range in output; darker games don't need brightness adjusted.
Factory-calibrated(printouts included).
Far better color gamut and rendition, without oversaturation.
Easily mounted to existing dual-monitor VESA stand.
Brightness knocked down from about 70% to 40%, as typical, seems correct.
And more...

I'd love to grab a 50-something-inch curved 4k-league ultrawide monitor,
and I think it's seriously cool that you landed one, but it's just not what my
or our budget could allow.

Having said all the above, I'll add that you need a six-foot-wide desk. ;-)a
They're known as "executive size" in the US: 3x6 feet - 36" x 72"
My pair of 27's leave me with room for maybe 40-inchers if I get a mount
about 2 or 3 inches taller. :-P

Do you mind sharing the model number or link to the monitor you're talking about? I'm about 9 years behind the curve, for the market of monitors. I rarely post, but am now looking to have a higher resolution monitor (that isn't 4 feet wide).

Thanks!

No trouble.

AOC U2790VQ 27" 4K IPS Monitor (external link) at Amazon.

At time of posting this, current best price is $309 for refurbished. Mine are new.
The price dropped and went back up at least three times within the 48 to 60 hours
I was watching this.
