Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is One Subject, Two Angles/Two Views
. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

This week, pick a subject and show us 2 sides, 2 different views, or 2 Angles..

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

5,6 or 7 seems to be bedtime for us a lot these days. We have been getting into some
real bad habits here.

Yeah, I really love this theme. . One good thing about it is that it is so universal; it can be applied to any genre of photography; any style or type of subject matter. . This is important because no one is "left out" because they shoot a genre that doesn't fit the theme.

And of course it causes us to take a different and deeper look at the things we photograph, and ask ourselves, "what other view of this subject would also look good in a photograph." . It gets us to engage with our subjects longer and more deeply, which is always good to do.

This is a rather simple interpretation of the theme. . A head-on view and a profile view of a Loon that I photographed on Wednesday. . The head-on view is cropped rather deeply, while the profile is cropped very little.

The shot I really want is one like the head-on view, but a total frame-filler; filling the frame with the Loon's head and not cropping at all. . I don't know if that will be possible, because I don't know if I will be able to get the Loons to come in that close. . And I am not sure that the MFD (minimum focus distance) of my lens will allow for that close of a photo, anyway. . But this theme is inspiring me to seek out less common angles to capture, and I want to get back up to the Loon's lake and give it another go!
