Hi all,

Bartering with my brother in law some labor building a deck for a canon 35mm f1.4L version 1. It is in 9 out of 10 condition. Date code us UU, so looks like a 2006. He is original owner and used very little. Body and glass is flawless. I checked ebay and the prices are literally all over board from $550 asking to 950 asking. Anyone have a decent idea what the current market is for this lens? Sold one recently? Any help would be appreciated. Does not have lens hood or bag.

Thanks much and hope everyone is doing well.

John

its my sisters hubby, but too funny! Tread lightly with family, right...especially when they own a sweet cabin I get to use a few times a year? You think $550 is the sweet spot though? Cheers!

Not current data, but I purchased a pre owned on here on POTN in 2013 for $700 shipped in very nice shape with hood, pouch and box. I think I got a very good deal at the time. The v1 seems to have gone down in price since the v2 came out. Still a great lens!

Thank you! Seven years and a V2 later and that probably lines up at 500-550 range im guessing.

I sold mine about 8 months ago for $600 but I did have the hood and pouch. The lens hood was not supplied when I bought it new. Great lens, you'll love it.

"Someone asked, what camera do you shoot with? Canon, of course, I replied. But when there was film, I shot Nikon. Someone then said, what is film?"

When trying to get comparables on ebay, go to advanced search and check “completed sales only”. It really helps!
