Mar 27, 2006 08:11 | #9 In the first image it would have been better had she tossed all of her hair behind her right shoulder and placed her hands around his neck. The horizon is tilted. # 2. Leaning them to camera left would have given this image some action. As it is it is static. Her necklace is crooked. # 3. Two too many hands. The rule in portraiture is to try and not show any more hands than what is need to tell the story and look good. In this image her right and his left should be the only ones showing. I ALWAYS place the back hand in the small of the back so it will be hidden. I don't like little 'sausages' growing out of shoulders or waists. # 4 has 'raccoon eyes' and the heads are tipped away from each other, instead of toward one another. Tipping heads away from one another indicates a lack of closeness. # 6, I love the pose for the most part, but again there are too many hands and her knees are side by side. In portraiture nothing should be exactly side by side if at all possible.
