Time that Sigma makes a 18-35 f1.8 for fullframe

I have a Canon 16-35 f4L IS and a Sigma 50 1.4 Art, I would love to sell them for this Sigma 18-35 f1.8 ART but the current version is only the DC
This to complement my Sigma 85 Art (for abandoned places urbex & for environmental portraits at 35 1.8).
So the Art (premium quality) and f1.8 is definitely important.

First I planned to sell my 50 Art for a 35 Art (as 50 & 85 are so close), the 50 Art is the best but people don't seem to know/buy this one often new or second hand strange enough.

I'm on Sony A7III since a while, but didn't much shoots anymore after the corona lockdown.
Time that we can get creative & travel again, will be for 2021 I guess...

18-35 f1.8 full frame would weigh more than 70-200 2.8 and cost more too.
Sigma 24-35 f2 actually exists and is less than 1kg. So buy that and take your pick of something wider.

any other unrealistic wishes you want to throw out while you're at it? do it while you have a captive audience

The Sigma 24-35 f2 is not wide enough, it was for the 16 or 18mm and 35mm ranges to replace my 16-35 f4 meanwhile.

Don't know why a Sigma 16-35 f1.8 DC Art would weigh more on fullframe than for crop ?
I have no problem with the heavyweight, my 50 Art, 85 Art and 70-200 2.8LII also weigh a lot, the picture quality is most important for me.

Why unrealistic if it exists for crop already ?

the 18-35 works on mirrorless from about 26-35.. below that to 21 is pretty heavey vignette limited use , below 21 is unusable vignette in any circumstance unless you're trying to simulate looking through a key hole.

so obviously the design that exists wont work for full frame.. and that's why it would weigh more.

If you have the $$$ then Sigma has a 14-24 f/2.8 at $1200.

So the fastest MF prime is f2.
The fastest APS-C prime is f1.2.

MF 23mm f4 weighs 849 grams and costs $2500 at BnH.
APS-C 23mm f2 weighs 180 grams and costs $449 at BnH.

So, ball park, an MF 23mm f2 would weigh 4000 grams and cost $15000, if they could make it. (They could make it, but would it be any good?)

The only way I can see this close to happening is a 15-30mm or so at F/2 RF mount lens. The EF 16-35mm is already larger than the Sigma and is a stop and a third slower. The incredible 28-70mm F/2 comes at the cost of size and weight, which can be expected if Canon develops an ultra wide zoom at the same aperture.
