I'd originally pre'd the X-T4 with 16-80mm kit zoom.
I cancelled that order and put in an order just for the x-T4.
I don't use 16-80mm enough and have that covered on other systems.
I then ordered a Canon 200mm F2.8 to Fringer onto the X-T4.
Still waiting on the T-4, today I tried the combo(s) on the e3 to see if I might
like this lens.
No way to equilibrate FF and APS-C I know but one of my favorite combos in the Sony world
is the Riv + Nikkor 300mm PF (via the just ok Commlite adapter). So the 200mm Canon on
the crop e3 or T4 is a kinda emulating of that.
At first I almost immediately boxed up the 200 for the return to B&H...I had the Fuji 1.4TC on
and the IQ was sub sub par! Then I remembered the EOS 1.4TCiii and put it on. That moved saved
the day with an acceptable IQ to my eye.
AF via Fringer with plain lens on the e3 is fine. Not mind blowing fast but OK for perched bierds.
With either TC it is OK too, but just OK. Mind you I live in an area devoid of good light most of the time
so I give any combo I try here in 'cloudland' a break.
With the EOS TC AF was faster by enough to matter, so the Fuji TC will gather dust on the shelf until
I get motivated to pawn it off.
Weight and wieldability are the highlights of this combo for walkabout. The TC yields the 280 I was after at F4 very close
the Nikkor 300PF on the FF Sony. The effective via the cropper sensor a field of view of 420. This is a super
nice 'reach' for the daily walks in not breaking the spine.
Fuji rumors speaks of a 300PF and a 500PF, in which case I'd ditch this combo, but for now it is the best I can come up
with for the Fuji system I'm building.
Here's some samples from today's first go with the above (the Downy via the Fuji TC, the other two via EOS TC)
A heap more Sun would have been nice, but that's not where I live.
