I have been extensively using lightroom and photoshop the last few weeks, trying to arrange a photo book.

I have to VENT>>>>

Am I doing something wrong?

WTF is with the zoom in Lightroom? Why can't I control how much zoom and have the friggen images fit the window.....JFC what a pain in the A)*(&)&*(_)_*&

It is either about about 12 x 7 inches on my 27 in monitor, or it's blown up to a crop showing about 60 percent of the image (expands one dimension to fill the screen, and clips the other dimension......

I'd like to expand the image such that which ever image dimension fills the height or wide first, stop there.

Instead if fills one dimension to wide and crops the height. Come on man.....

And clicking Zoom Out sometimes ZOOMS IN and vice versa. :) It's almost comical.

Do you have the Navigator open.

Though I have an old version of LR, I'm guessing yours should be similar to below.

5 screen shots of the navigator ( Fit, Fill, 1:1, 1:2 )

Used to be some keyboard shortcuts.

With Windows use the CTRL and + key simultaneously and with a Mac the CMD and + key. To zoom out, more orless the reverse, CTRL or CMD depending on OS and the - key.

Thank you for the feedback, more venting frustration than anything else.

I am using the keyboard shortcut LOL. Pretty universal to all applications. It's just wonky.

I was reducing the two side panels and the bottom panel to make the most use of my screen. I'll find the proper setting, has to be there somewhere. Thanks again.
