Evening all,

Can anyone recommend me an image viewer with the capacity to tag images.

Doesn't need to be an editor, just the above, for tagging, viewing, slideshows and full screen viewing, as I already have Lightroom 6 for that.

I have Windows 10 and the built-in photo viewer thing is not up to it at all

Thanks all

Faststone Image Viewer has tagging.

XnView has ratings.

As you have windows 10, have you tried right-clicking on the photo? You can select Properties, followed by the Details tab.You can then enter a Title, Subject, Rating, Tags, and Comments. No new software needed.

When you open the folder, you can select View, and select Large icons or Extra Large icons for a quick view of the images.

Thanks for that - just tried and it's a little clunky for me when loading up tagged images.

Thanks for the tip though

Thanks for your reply

Do you use either of these and if so, what's your preference?

I started with FIV approx 5 years ago.

Recently looked at Xn but was so use to FIV, that I stuck with it.

Also big fan of Faststone Capture, though that is not free.

Fast Raw Viewer (FRV):

And it is 25% off of its reasonably low regular price until 31 May. If you shoot raw, it is a no brainer.

Rating and labeling in FRV:

+1

Have this also ... and that's the program I use to choose my keepers. :-)

... but FIV is my everyday viewer and a one button press to send something to PS.
