They are is lucky to be able to see a fox in the wild, for some, like me it would be a dream come true.
I see they are shooting with the 100-400L @ 400mm and F5.6 is as open as it can get. With the 1.6 crop factor narrow depth of focus is not going to happen in this circumstance. I had the exact same setup for years and you need to have a lot of room behind the subject to get a blurred background.
