Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Show Us. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

So.. Show us what you are doing this week.. We are well into Spring and Sheltering is being relaxed. ...and I know we are all into doing some sort of project... be it around the house, in the garden, in photography. I know you are doing something.... Show Us!

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Right now I am trying to catch up on my spraying for noxious weeds and Invasive grasses. Weather this Spring has not been very conducive for spraying. The land needs care, virus or not. Not a great pic, but I did take a little time to make it. Hope you are all surviving OK.:-)

I'm not shooting much these days, but I did go shoot barn swallows yesterday.

Hi Lesley! Thanks very much.
Light was coming from the left and with the bird in that position light hit that tail just right. :-P

Been doing a lot of around the house photography during lock down. Found these wildflowers on the side of our lot.

They look like bachelor's buttons with some petals missing. Might they be escapes from cultivation?

Nothing much to show...spent a good part of the week chasing satellites and working on these antennas, cleaning connectors and updating the tracking software that steers the antennas.

What do the antennas receive? Is this connected to photography?

They are amateur radio antennas so they allow me to transmit and receive signals. They rotate azimuth and elevation to track orbiting satellites and spacecraft. While I mostly talk with other amateur radio operators through satellites, I've also talked to astronauts on different space shuttles, American astronauts Shannon Lucid and Norm Thagard when they were on the Russian MIR space station, and others on the International Space Station (ISS). There are three different amateur radio stations on the ISS.

Amateur radio operators working with universities have developed small low earth orbit satellites that can be used as STEM learning tools. I've downloaded data from some of those satellites too.

Not connected to photography, although I have downloaded images from satellites and the ISS.

It's fun...for me anyway. It helps to be a nerd. :p :-D

Thanks, Tim. A few houses around here have similarly elaborate objects on their roofs.
