Combining Images

I appreciate any information anyone can provide as to any software, techniques, etc for combining multiple images into one, not HDR, just putting together multiple images to form a single image. I have looked at my C1 software, DxO, etc. and nothing will fit the bill. Appreciate any help.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "putting multiple images to form a single image" but of the ways that I can imagine you mean it, Photoshop is capable of doing that.

for example, taking two individual pictures of kids (two .jpgs) and creating one .jpg with the two images. PS is the one application I don't have,,,maybe a free trial to try it...

Yes, Photoshop can definitely do that and a whole lot more. I just created this picture last week using it. I know this isn't exactly what you mean, but this is just an example of what you can do with it. Note that there is a thirty pound weight difference between these two and they have VERY different proportions in regards to their head and ear shape and size, as well as very different angle and attachment points of their ears on their heads.
