Delightful photos, Richard. I'm currently reading Talking to the Moon by John Joseph Mathews and it sounds like Oklahoma indeed has some compelling scenery. Well done.

Sounds like an interesting read. The Osage are some of the original inhabitants of the state - before other Native American groups were moved followed by the general settlement of the area in the 1890s. There is a wonderful wildlife refuge run by the Nature Conservancy right by the Osage Tribal Headquarters in Pawhuska. Oklahoma is pretty subtle but we have more varied eco-systems any other state of comparable size.

I have family in Colorado. Colorado shouts at you while Oklahoma whispers "Over here. Look closely."
