Sounds like an interesting read. The Osage are some of the original inhabitants of the state - before other Native American groups were moved followed by the general settlement of the area in the 1890s. There is a wonderful wildlife refuge run by the Nature Conservancy right by the Osage Tribal Headquarters in Pawhuska. Oklahoma is pretty subtle but we have more varied eco-systems any other state of comparable size.
