PSE 9 question

I use the obviously outdated PSE 9 for my post work. I have never tried to do this particular thing though. This image was taken on the tarmac of an airport and I would like to remove the yellow painted stripe so that it appears as the rest of the background. Any hints on how best to accomplish that little trick?

Done in PS ... but PSE should be able to do the same.

Used Lasso tool and moved some of the bottom blue up and some of the
top blue down, then masked out around the shoes.

I would clone out the yellow on a blank layer. Then use a layer mask to remove any cloning "overspray" from the shoes.

Perhaps also darken the bright background. I think it distracts from the shoes (I used a curves adjustment layer):
