I was waiting for the eagle at the pond today and suddenly saw this bird that I had never seen before, as I turned towards it it took off and I only managed a awful ID shot

Is this a Red Phalarope (non-breeding)?

I have no idea what it might be.

The breast markings and bill (orange-yellow w/ black tip) look solidly like a Spotted Sandpiper, to me.

That could be we have them around, so I think that is not the bird that was right next to me, must have picked up this one when trying to catch the other one
