A dream honeymoon started with Zambia's South Laungua Park and culminated in Rwanda. Incredible, absolutely incredible! South Laungua was gearing up for the rains and it was really dry and hot. The trek up the volcanoes to find our gorilla family was exhilarating and this sea level dweller struggled just a bit to get up to the jungle. Once there we were gifted the acceptance of these beautiful gorillas eating, playing and resting. My trek was punctuated by being "pushed" off the trail by a large silverback! African wildlife is intoxicating and beautiful.

It is impossible to stare into those eyes and not have a feeling of kinship. There is intelligence there. How people can poach these creatures and keep them cooped up in zoos is beyond me.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I saw it and felt it too as well as total peaceful acceptance...

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely animals in their own space.

Trust the honeymoon was exhilarating too :-)

Great photos. African sunsets are so amazing. I was in Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe 6 years ago just at the very end of the dry season. Each afternoon the sky would get hazy. It never did more than a slight shower, but it made for great sunsets.

Thank you! You know first hand how beautiful the country and animals are. The dry season was warm but the sunsets well, incredible
