Sorry if this has been covered already. I tried searching and didn’t find anything after 3 years back.

So I tried the time lapse feature on my R today. Cool clouds were forming and rolling in prior to a storm. I actually put my R w/24-70 on my tripod and my iPhone 11 on my Gorillapod and figured I could do a time lapse with both of them and then compare. Well the iPhone version came out great and also transferred easily to my iPad Pro via Airdrop, but no such luck with my Canon time lapse. I’ve tried to transfer with an SD card adapter plugged right in and importing from the Photos app - gives me a red exclamation mark and doesn’t transfer. I tried using Canon Connect to transfer - goes all the way through and then says “failed” at the end. Any other ideas? Maybe another app that will work? I figure it has something to do with incompatible file types but not sure what to do other than just downloading a bunch of random apps and seeing what happens. Help!?!?

I don't know if the time lapse function on the EOS R is recorded on a codec that the iPad Pro natively supports. I have uploaded .mp4 files locally on my 12.9, have stored them in their own folder, and the iPad can play them. With the new version of iOS13, there's now a folder manager (app that's called "Files"). You can use it to temporarily save files if you're looking to offload, use as a source for different apps (such as Lightroom or PS), or directly open files it recognizes.
