DLO's job is deconvolution which is what capture sharpening is about. I had a link to excellent Canon document about DLO but another one of my multiple Canon site links is also broken. I'm not sure it will work unless you use Canon's DPP software. There is no option for that using other software. LR has a Detail Slider in the Detail window. 0-50 takes care of halo suppression. 50-100 takes care of deconvolution but you lose halo suppression. Then you also have the sharpening, etc sliders to counter the low pass filter. Other developers use their own methods and wording.
When applying DLO using DPP is very slow so I never use it in the camera settings bit I'm not sire that would make a difference. I'm not an expert at this but a RAW file is just data so it may just give the instructions to apply DLO automatically when you open the RAW file using DPP. Rudy would be referring to Canon and not 3rd party software. I do as little as possible in camera and save it for post processing. It is kind of a shame because it is very good. True digital deconvolution specific to each lens, not a generic one. It is easier to see improvements on less expensive lenses and particularly at wider focal lengths. More expensive lenses and zoom the changes are more subtle.
Just a general info.

As for the 5D4 what do you shoot? If you do any birding Case 2 is good. Factory setting for Tracking Sensitivity is -1 but I set it to -2. It makes the system not immediately refocus on something else if the bird is obstructed or the the AF point goes off it it. It gives you a bit of time to get the AF point back on the bird. +2 is the opposite. AF immediately focuses on something else. If I was shooting two people running and was switching from one to the other then I would use +2.
As to the C1-3 I'm always changing AF operation and modes. One Shot, Zone and Large Zone AF so I program the custom settings mainly for that. There are also sub-menus for the BBF that allow you to make changes as well.
I tried iTR on my 7D2 for a but and planned to try it with my 5D4 but never got around to it as I stopped shooting people. I sold it last fall. I have read good things about iTR. Note: It only works in the Zone AF modes. I found Zone AF in general quite good and used it quite a bit sans iTR.
